Out of mere boredom and utter letdown, I've compiled a list of "that means, one more week ofs:" for you all to enjoy. So here you go...
Since Ryder won't be here for another week, that means the Hamden family will have one more week of:
- Christmas shopping to finish,
- Hospital bag packing, repacking...and re-re-packing...
- Uninhibited primetime television to enjoy,
- Ferra relishing in her only-child-ness,
- Tiffany having swollen feet, a shitty attitude, and a shittier diet,
- Decent sleeping habits,
- Phone calls from every Tom, Dick and Harry asking, "Are you OK!?!?! Any baby news yet?!!!" [ed. note: I say this, only we sincerely appreciate every phone call paid to Raymond, our parents and myself over the last few weeks....no harm meant here...]
So even though little Ryder could still come on his own in the next week...it's not likely. We will check into the hospital at 10pm on the night of the 16th to try to get my cervix "ripened" for labor...and hope that the labor process will begin on its own. If not, the doc will be in first thing Wednesday morning (the 17th) to begin the formal induction process with the Pitocin drip. At this point I don't really care how they do it, just as long as they get him out safely and soundly...and pain is kept to an absolute min.
In other, more exciting news: we're all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Bralley! Shannon informed us earlier this afternoon that they were in labor and expecting the arrival of Baby Betsy some time [we assume] today! Good Luck Shannon and Ben! We can't wait to meet little Betsy!!!
